Marina studied for her undergraduate degree (MEng) at the University of Manchester in Materials Science and Engineering, specializing in ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials employed as high temperature ultrasonic transducers under the supervision of Dr David Hall and in collaboration with Ionix Advanced Technologies (Huddersfield, UK) and Lucideon (Stoke, UK). After graduation she started her PhD at Queen Mary University London and joined Dr Joe Briscoe’s group. Her research is now focused on the device optimization of piezoelectric and ferroelectric thin films used in photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis for energy harvesting.
